We should be getting in a couple of additional new horses in for sale in the next few weeks, so please check back often for updates on the current horses for sale as well as any new ones.
We just got some new additions to Double R. They are currently being evaluated for temperment and skill for the horse and skill level for the rider. I am very excited about a great many of these horses. They have already proven to be really good horses. I will be putting up some pictures in the next few days and giving updates on each horse. We will evaluate them on the trail for spookiness, tight trails, water, dogs, ATV's, roadside riding, up hills, down hills, just about everything you can think of around for a trail horse to encounter. At this time of year a group of turkeys or deer are not uncommon sights and they have a bad habit of jumping right in front of us on the trail. This will be great for us to see how these horses react to just about everything around. Once we see what they can and won't do...I will update their ads for you. They have all shown good temperment so far. They all went without hesitation into the stall. They are actually nice and quiet in their stalls and were not nervous at all. I even drove my cart into the barn wide open and they just looked at me, no spook yet. I will try and get a few pics of them up this week.

This is Miss Eternity's Cash. She is a 5 year old bay mare. She is green broke and has been used as a broodmare. She has an old injury to her hind leg, but stays sound on it while riding. The scar is just ugly, but has not hindered her in any way. I am selling her as broodmare sound only, but she is sound all the way around. I just don't want to take the time to finish her out is the reason for her low price. She just weaned a beautiful foal, and is readt to finish her training or to be bred back. We dont do any breeding, thus she is for sale. She is in great shape and is bred for speed. I have sent off for an extended pedigree. I am certain she is a Dash For Cash offspring, as she looks just like Dash For Cash, very same head. She is a beautiful mare. She is being offered at $1000, but her price is somewhat neg. She has been ridden and worked here, and has stayed completly sound. She will talk to you all day long as long as you talk back to her. I can't say enough about her personality. Someone should really tell her she is a horse. She is fun to just be around, she does this thing in the pasture that I have never seen a horse do. I can't even put it into words. Noone around here can figure out what she is doing other than just playing, too funny. I guess you would have to see her do it to know what I am talking about. We can stand out there all day long and just watch to see how she will entertain us next!

Cash has just been fun to be around. All the day to day chores are easy with her. Crossties for bathing and grooming with no problems. She loves to be handled and is a quiet talker. Yep, she will talk back to you. This girl has tons of personality and is just a fun horse to hang out with.
Cash is a beautiful blood bay and has one of the pretties heads I have ever seen on a quarter horse. She really is just beautiful.. She just weaned a beautiful foal and I will put up a pic when I get a chance. She was a wonderful mother and the birth was uneventful. I do know that she has alot of the old foundation bloodlines in her pedigree and when I get the copy of her extended pedigree I will post that on here as well. She would be a great addition to any breeding program. SHe has a terrific temperment and looks to die for. |
OKAY! These are really bad pictures of her, she looks horrible in both of the pictures. SHe is a beautiful horse and I will get some new photos up of her soon. SOLD

We have Megan...who is a 5 yr. old grade horse. She is an Arab/Morgan cross. Beautiful movement, very people friendly. Megan is of a small size, but I haven't measured her yet. She carries me with no problem and I certainly weigh more than a child. She is being offered for sale for 1200 right now. After we work with her some more, her price may increase once we find out what all she will do. Right now, she is a trail horse but has potential to do alot more than just trail ride. She will make a child a nice horse possibly for showing. We are just now getting her under saddle. SHe is a very pretty horse and loves to be handled. She loves the attention and doesn't have a mean bone in her. She is very level headed and hasn't been marish at all. She has terrific ground manners. She is curretly being stalled and turned out in a paddock. We are working her on a regular basis to get to know her better and see what all she can do. She has a great lope on her and a wonderful slow jog. We are working with her on her backup, but she is already improving greatly since she first got here. Once she knows what you are asking for, she will just do it. She might be my personal favorite right now. I have really enjoyed having her here, she has been a real pleasure .
We also have Gypsy Rose. She is a grade Arabian mare, grey, and from her face it is evident that she is all Egyptian. Our best guess is that she was a show horse. We have watched her in the ring and she is really something special. She came to us very underweight and in immediate need of medical attention. We are working very hard with this mare to get her healthy and to again be a happy horse. She is a beautiful horse and is very sad to see her in that condition when she arrived. She has been seen by the vet and has been treated for various wounds and infections. The difference that food and a kind hand can make in such a short amount of time is amazing. When she got here, she went nuts when the male vet arrived. That was the only time we had seen her act in that way. There are truely some trust issues with men for her. She is already acting better, my husband had already bonded with her the first week she was here. She wants you to touch her, but when you put out a hand, she reacts like you are going to strike her. She has gotten better and is trusting more. She is in the paddock with Megan and is aggressive at food time with her pasture mate only. She seems to be grateful for any pat on the head and rub you give her. She has the kindest eyes of any horse I have ever seen. I know that when we are finished with her, she will make a little girl very happy. We have even talked of keeping her ourselves. It is always hard when a horse comes here and then moves on to their forever homes. I get attached to each horse that comes through here. There are, of course, some that I will always keep in my heart forever. John Wayne is one of the them, Cochise is another. i think Megan and Gypsy Rose has already touched my heart in a way that is hard to explain. Both of these horses had is very hard before they came here. They are grateful for all the attention that is given, that shows in their eyes already. With me being selfish, I hope these 2 horses are here for awhile. If for no other reason than have taught me alot since their arrival. They are teaching me to trust a horse again, just like we are teaching them to trust people again. These 2 horses will be here until they are ready to go to a forever home. That home will have to be a very special home and I will check this home and their references. But for now, they are here and they are safe. They do not have to worry about if they will be fed, or if someone will hit them with something when they don't react the way they are supposed to. They will have to behave, of course, but they will not be beaten when they don't. |

Gypsy has found a new home with a teenager. I swear they are meant for each other. Gypsy does things for her, we could never get her to do. Both are happy.
